Class 4 Impact-Resistant Shingles in Nebraska
Class 4 means the shingle passed a steel-ball impact test (UL 2218). It does not mean the next Grand Island cell cannot bruise it. It does not mean your carrier will cut your premium. Ask your agent for that number. We can install the product.

After a west Omaha or I-80 hail year, everyone wants “hail-proof.” There is no such shingle. Class 4 is the top residential asphalt rating in common use. It costs more than a standard architectural and can take a little longer to install. Some Nebraska carriers offer a mitigation credit if the roof meets their list. That credit is on the policy. We will not print a fake percentage on an invoice.
When it is worth asking
- You already file hail claims more than once a decade — Grand Island, Kearney, west Omaha.
- Your agent can show a real credit before you pay the upgrade.
- The HOA will approve the specific product, not “Class 4” as a vibe.
Soft metals still dent. Gutters, vents, and AC fins are not Class 4 because the shingles are. Collateral is still on the hail page. If the existing field is already bruised, you are shopping a replacement, not a magic overlay.
